President Ilham Aliyev has received Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov.

Rashid Meredov conveyed the warmest greetings and deep respect of the President of Turkmenistan to the head of state. He handed to the head of state a message from President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in which he expressed his best wishes and invited President Ilham Aliyev to visit Turkmenistan. Rashid Meredov emphasized the role of friendly relations between the heads of states in the expansion of bilateral relations.

President Ilham Aliyev stressed that bilateral relations between our countries are developing dynamically. Noting that both peoples have a long history and ethnic roots, the head of state said that the two countries are cooperating in various fields.

President Ilham Aliyev noted the importance of relations between the heads of state and high-level meetings in the expansion of bilateral relations. The head of state expressed the hope that the visit of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov to Azerbaijan will serve to further strengthen bilateral relations.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for the greetings of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and asked to convey his greetings to the Turkmen head of state.
