Ilham Aliyev received Minister of State for Arabian Gulf Affairs at Saudi Arabian Ministry of Foreign Affairs

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received Minister of State for Arabian Gulf Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Thamer bin Ali Sabhan Al Sabhan.

Thamer bin Ali Sabhan Al Sabhan extended the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud`s and the Crown Prince`s greetings to the head of state.

On behalf of them Thamer bin Ali Sabhan Al Sabhan thanked President Ilham Aliyev for participating in the Arab Islamic American Summit in Riyadh despite the busy schedule and the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku. The Saudi Minister expressed satisfaction with the fact that he has visited Baku a few times in the recent period.

The Minister of State for Arabian Gulf Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia said relations between the two countries are steadily developing, adding the leadership of the two countries attach great importance to expanding these ties. “We want our relations to develop and reach the level of strategic partnership.” Thamer bin Ali Sabhan Al Sabhan stressed that they wish to increase high-level reciprocal visits as well as visits between the nations.

The head of state said he was pleased to meet with Minister of State for Arabian Gulf Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Thamer bin Ali Sabhan Al Sabhan again. President Ilham Aliyev congratulated the Saudi Minister on the successful organization of the Arab Islamic American Summit, and noted that after returning from the Summit to Baku, he said that the first official visit of US President Donald Trump to a Muslim country – the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – is a manifestation of respect for the entire Muslim world. The head of state noted that the Summit was held successfully, adding Azerbaijan was represented at the highest level. Touching upon the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games held in Baku, President Ilham Aliyev described these Games as an important event in terms of strengthening solidarity and unity among Muslim countries. The head of state said bonds between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia are developing successfully, expressing confidence that they will grow even faster in the future.

President Ilham Aliyev thanked for the greetings of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Crown Prince and asked Thamer bin Ali Sabhan Al Sabhan to extend his greetings to the Saudi Arabian King and Crown Prince.
