President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has met with President of the European Council Donald Tusk in Brussels.

Describing Azerbaijan as a reliable and responsible partner for the European Union, Donald Tusk noted that the EU highly appreciates Azerbaijan`s role in the region.
President Ilham Aliyev described the development of Azerbaijan-EU relations as very successful, adding that the country attaches great importance to the expansion of these ties.
The head of state informed President of the European Council Donald Tusk of the ongoing negotiations on the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
They stressed the importance of the Partnership Priorities document signed between Azerbaijan and the European Union last year, and exchanged views over the ongoing negotiations on a partnership agreement between the sides. Azerbaijan`s close cooperation with the European Union both within the Eastern Partnership Program and in the bilateral format was emphasized.
