First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva attended opening ceremony of rebuilt Azerbaijan pavilion at Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy in Moscow

An opening ceremony of the rebuilt Azerbaijan pavilion has been held at the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy in Moscow.

First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, who is in Russia on an official visit, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva and Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko attended the event.

Built in 1939, the Azerbaijan pavilion at the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy was reconstructed with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

Azerbaijan’s First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva and Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko were welcomed by director of the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy Sergey Shagurov.

First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, Chairperson of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko and Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalia Sergunina cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of Azerbaijan national pavilion.

Then they viewed the stand reflecting the previous and present look of the pavilion.

The national pavilion features exhibits reflecting ancient history, culture, traditions of the Azerbaijani people, as well as history of modern Azerbaijan, the country’s tourism potential and its achievements in economic, political, and humanitarian areas.

Since merged with the Ostankino Park, the total area of the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy is more than 325 hectares.

A book highlighting the history of Azerbaijan pavilion was published by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation ahead of the opening of the pavilion.

First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva and Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko signed the exhibition’s Honorary Guest Book.

Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko then addressed the event.

In his remarks, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu described the opening of Azerbaijan’s national pavilion at the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy as a historic event.
