Ilham Aliyev received the Indian minister of trade and industry and co-chairman of the Azerbaijan-India joint intergovernmental commission

President Ilham Aliyev has received the Indian minister of trade and industry and co-chairman of the Azerbaijan-India joint intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation, Jyotiraditya Scindia.

The co-chairman of the Azerbaijan-India joint intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation, Jyotiraditya Scindia, passed on greetings on behalf of President of the Republic of India Pratibha Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to the President of Azerbaijan. Indicating that the cooperation between the two countries covered various spheres, the Indian minister stressed that the relations in the economic and cultural areas had a long history.

President Ilham Aliyev said the session of the Azerbaijan-India intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation was a good opportunity to discuss ways of expanding economic relations. The President pointed to a good potential for Azerbaijani-Indian cooperation in the fields of information and communication technology, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, energy, tourism, etc. President Ilham Aliyev noted the importance of partnerships based on historical ties existing between the two nations for centuries.

President Ilham Aliyev thanked the Indian minister for the greetings of President Pratibha Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and asked him to communicate his greetings to the Indian President and Prime Minister.
