President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Volodymyr Lytvyn.

The President said that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Ukraine are developing successfully and cooperation was producing good results. Pointing to the good prospects for the expansion of economic cooperation, President Aliyev said that inter-parliamentary ties were quite reassuring. Noting the importance of the activities of parliamentary delegations of the two countries in international institutions, including the Council of Europe, the President pointed to the importance of the recent session of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly held in Baku. President Aliyev said the parliaments of two countries were also successfully cooperating within the framework of the “Eastern Partnership” program, which was contributing to the expansion of Azerbaijani-Ukrainian multilateral relations. The President expressed his confidence that the visit by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Volodymyr Lytvyn, to Azerbaijan would be successful and further expand bilateral relations.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Volodymyr Lytvyn, said it was an honor for him to visit Azerbaijan and meet with President Ilham Aliyev. Volodymyr Lytvyn said Ukraine was interested in deepening the cooperation between the two countries and peoples. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine pointed to the good opportunities for the expansion of bilateral relations between Ukraine and Azerbaijan in various spheres, including the inter-parliamentary cooperation.
