Azerbaijani national press, possessing rich historical traditions, contributed greatly to the realization of freedom goals, preservation of moral values, founding and development of independent Azerbaijani state. Our government has always provided the press with attention and care during the years of independence, and consistent measures were implemented to develop freedom of speech and press and strengthen the mass media’s material-technical base.
In order to ensure consistent support to development of national press and strengthen the social security of press workers, I hereby order as follows:
1. In order to improve the housing-living conditions of the press workers and to build residential buildings for them, funds in the amount of 5.0 million AZN should be allocated to the State Fund for the Support of Mass Media Development under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, from the Reserve Fund of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as intended in the 2010 FY state budget:
2. Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan is responsible for transfer of financial assistances, as per procedure, determined by the first clause of this Order.
