Ilham Aliyev accepted the credentials from a newly-appointed US Ambassador to Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev has accepted the credentials from a newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Azerbaijan, Richard Morningstar.

The Ambassador reviewed the guard of honor.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to Azerbaijan, Richard Morningstar presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.

Then the President had a discussion with the Ambassador.

Richard Morningstar was pleased to recall his first visit to Azerbaijan in 1995, his participation, along with his wife, at a conference in 2002 organized in conjunction with the American Councils for International Education as part of exchange programs, and meetings with nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev.

The President said he was glad to see Richard Morningstar in Azerbaijan. Stressing that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the United States have successfully developed, the President expressed his appreciation to Ambassador Morningstar for his contribution to the development of bilateral relations over the past 20 years and for Azerbaijan’s economic development. The head of state praised the support of the United States and the personal role of Richard Morningstar in the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and other energy projects. President Ilham Aliyev expressed his confidence that the relations between the two countries would develop successfully during Richard Morningstar’s diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan.
