Ilham Aliyev, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic held expanded meeting

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has held an expanded meeting with President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic.

Welcoming the President of Azerbaijan, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said:

- Dear Mr. President,

Dear friends.

Thank you for visiting Serbia. We are very glad to see you here today in Belgrade. We will be able to see you more often in our country and hope to be visiting your country. And thank you, Mr. President; we know you are very busy these days. I can concur and add that you are more productive. We are best friends. I know it is tough for you to schedule a visit to our country. Thank you for coming here. I believe that we confirmed during our tete-a-tete meeting the genuine friendship between our two countries. We will always be supportive of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, just as you have always been very supportive, under not always-easy circumstances, of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia. We will keep doing the same, and I know that Azerbaijan will always do the same under your leadership. We congratulate you on the many successes you made recently, and your economic successes have drawn the interest of many. We see a real prosperous country becoming an even bigger friend and ally for our country. Thank you once again for coming, and I hope we will have more time for discussions when I come to Baku and when you visit Serbia again.

Addressing the event, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said:

- Thank you, Mr. President. First of all, thank you for the invitation. I am happy to see you again. Thank you for your hospitality. We just had a very good and productive bilateral discussion tete-a-tete, and now we will continue our interaction. As you correctly mentioned, Azerbaijan and Serbia always supported one another in the international arena. The issues related to our countries' territorial integrity and sovereignty were always addressed from the perspective of the interests of both countries. It is natural because our countries are strategic partners. We signed corresponding documents elevating our cooperation. At the same time, the substance of our cooperation is also benevolent. We will discuss many issues today, and taking this opportunity, I would like to invite you to visit Azerbaijan. Since your official visit to Azerbaijan, we have met many times during the last couple of years. On the sidelines of international events, we always have the opportunity to talk to each other. I am grateful for this invitation. I am very glad to be back in the beautiful country of Serbia, our friendly country and to contribute with you and members of our delegations to the future development of our strategic partnership. So, once again, thank you, and we will be looking forward to your visit to Azerbaijan.
