From Tale Shamchiyev, Baku, Azerbaijan
Dear Mr. President!
I understand perfectly well that I have no right to evaluate your decision. But I write this letter under the influence of overflowing emotions. I mean the order to pardon Ramil Safarov which you have signed. Of course, no-one in Azerbaijan had any doubts that the President would return our citizen to the homeland and that Ramil’s prison life would end.
But no-one could even imagine that you would resolve the matter so cleverly, heroically and wisely, regardless of those who don’t like us. You have made them very anxious. Armenia’s Russian-speaking online media are in a state of mourning, while authors of articles are in a state of knockout. It is the victory for us all, especially for you personally.
I sincerely congratulate you and want to express my confidence that I am joined by hundreds of thousands of people. We have won a very important strategic victory over the treacherous enemy. May Allah give us many more such victories! The people of
Azerbaijan have realized again that they have a courageous, steel-character and great Commander-in-Chief.
With deep respect and pride for being a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan
