President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has laid a foundation stone for the village of Gargabazar in the Fuzuli district.
Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the liberated territories of the Karabakh Economic Region (except Shusha district) Emin Huseynov briefed the head of state on the village construction project.
The village is located 10 km away from the Fuzuli International Airport. Its administrative area includes the villages of Yal-Pirahmadli and Sardarli.
The total projected area of the village of Gargabazar is 152.6 hectares. A total of 527 private houses are scheduled to be built for relocation of 2 thousand people. The first phase will see the construction of 181 private houses in the area of 35.5 hectares and relocation of 629 people.
The facilities in the village will include an administrative building, Flag square, community center, cafe, restaurant, ceremonial hall, pharmacy, sports club, family health center, 384-seat secondary school, 128-seat kindergarten, library, bazaar, retail space, mosque and guest house.

Historical monuments including Shah Abbas Caravanserai and Shah Abbas Mosque will be restored.
