President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, the head of the Uruguay-Azerbaijan friendship group, Mario Jaime Trobo.
The head of state noted the importance of the visit by a large delegation of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay to Azerbaijan for the development of bilateral relations. Stressing that the bilateral relations between the two countries were going through a period of development, President Aliyev noted the need for measures to further enhance these relations. Noting the importance of strengthening the political, economic and cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uruguay, the President said that the inter-parliamentary relations were of great importance to the expansion of the relationship. Stressing the importance of mutual visits to the development of bilateral relations, the President expressed his confidence that the visit to Azerbaijan would be successful and serve to expand ties.
