President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the state minister of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Carolina Pieper.
Carolina Pieper conveyed greetings on behalf of German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle to President Ilham Aliyev. She stressed that Germany had consistently supported Azerbaijan since our country gained independence. Noting that this was her first visit to Azerbaijan, the guest expressed her satisfaction with the establishment of the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce during the visit. Carolina Pieper praised the opening of the first German Chamber of Commerce in the region.
President Ilham Aliyev described the establishment of the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce as a good indicator of cooperation between the two countries. The head of state noted the importance of the Chamber of Commerce for the interaction between the businessmen from Azerbaijan and Germany and the implementation of joint projects. He expressed his hope that the activities of the Chamber of Commerce would be successful.
The sides exchanged views on the development of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of industry, energy, investment, education, tourism, etc.
The President expressed his gratitude for the greetings from Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle and asked the state minister to convey his greetings to the Foreign Minister of Germany.
