President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Cemil Çiçek.
Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Cemil Çiçek noted with satisfaction that on every visit to Azerbaijan he was witnessing great development in our capital. “Azerbaijan is a shining star of the region and the Caucasus. Inshallah, this star will shine forever,” said Cemil Çiçek, expressing hope that Azerbaijan would grow rapidly in the coming years. He stressed that the friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey were important for the consolidation of peace and stability in the region and further expansion of mutual cooperation. Cemil Çiçek said the cooperation between the two countries was developing successfully in all areas, including the field of inter-parliamentary relations.
Praising Turkey's active role in the ongoing global developments, President Ilham Aliyev stressed the importance of Azerbaijani-Turkish unity in terms of regional cooperation. President Aliyev said the ongoing successful cooperation between the two countries in political, economic, energy, transport, trade and other areas was of great importance for the entire region. He noted the importance of the Turkish-Azerbaijani High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council for a further strengthening of this cooperation. Underscoring the high level of inter-parliamentary cooperation, the President noted with satisfaction that the two countries have supported each other in all international organizations. President Ilham Aliyev expressed his confidence that the visit of Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Cemil Çiçek to Azerbaijan would serve to further enhance bilateral relations.
The sides also exchanged views on the progress of negotiations on the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and other issues.
