Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Prime Minister of Latvia

President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by Prime Minister of Latvia Valdis Dombrovskis.

Emphasizing that the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Latvia was reassuring, the President characterized the mutual high-level visits as a good indicator of these relations. Recalling with satisfaction his meeting with Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis during an official visit to Latvia, President Ilham Aliyev expressed hope that his visit to
Azerbaijan would provide a good opportunity for the discussion of issues related to the further expansion of ties. Highlighting the role of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission in identifying new areas of cooperation, the President said there was good potential for a further strengthening of ties. President Ilham Aliyev expressed his confidence that the visit of Prime Minister of Latvia Valdis Dombrovskis to Azerbaijan would be successful.

Noting that this was his first visit to Azerbaijan, Prime Minister of Latvia Valdis Dombrovskis said the rapid development taking place in the capital had made a great impression on him. Indicating that there are favorable opportunities for the expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Latvia, the Prime Minister stressed the importance of various mutual visits to the strengthening of ties. He noted that the trade between the two countries had grown in recent years. Valdis Dombrovskis regarded his visit to Azerbaijan with a large delegation of businessmen as an indicator of interest in expanding cooperation with our country.
