On 21 January, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received President of the British Olympic Association and Chairman of the London Organizing Committee for London Olympic Games, Lord Sebastian Coe.
The head of state congratulated the President of the British Olympic Association and Chairman of the London Organizing Committee for London Olympic Games, Lord Sebastian Coe on a high level of organization of the 30th Summer Olympic Games in London. President Aliyev said that this visit would create a good opportunity for becoming acquainted with our country.
President of the British Olympic Association and Chairman of the London Organizing Committee for London Olympic Games, Lord Sebastian Coe, in turn, congratulated the head of our state on the success of Azerbaijani sportsmen in the 30th Olympic Games in London. He said that during his visit to Azerbaijan he would review sports facilities where the inaugural European Games will be held in 2015 and the rest of our capital.
The sides stressed the importance of the work being done in Azerbaijan to develop sport, noted the country’s role in the global Olympic movement and expressed confidence of a further expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and international sports organizations.
