President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Indonesia, Marzuki Alie.

President Ilham Aliyev noted that the relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Indonesia were successfully developing in the bilateral format and indicated that the contacts in the spheres of political, economic, inter-parliamentary cooperation and other areas were expanding. President Aliyev said that political relations had further intensified in recent years and pointed to the importance of reciprocal visits of various levels for the development of this cooperation. The President said that the two countries constantly supported each other in international organizations and expressed his confidence that this support would be continued in the future too. President Ilham Aliyev voiced his hope that the visit by the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Republic of Indonesia, Marzuki Alie, to Azerbaijan would give an impetus to the further expansion of bilateral relations.

The Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Republic of Indonesia, Marzuki Alie, stressed that there were great opportunities for the expansion of ties between the two countries in the fields of education, tourism, trade, construction, etc. Touching upon the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, the visitor said that his country supported the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and a resolution of the conflict only within the norms and principles of international law, including the UN Security Council resolutions.
