President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the Chairman of the Board of Managing Directors of the “Commerzbank AG” bank, Martin Blessing.

Indicating that he had first visited Azerbaijan five years ago, Martin Blessing said he was witnessing rapid economic development in the country over this period. He stressed the importance of consistent measures being taken in Azerbaijan to diversify the economy.

The President of Azerbaijan said the visit by the Chairman of the Board of Managing Directors of the “Commerzbank AG” bank, Martin Blessing, to Azerbaijan was a good opportunity to review the work done to develop cooperation and examine the prospects for enhancing this cooperation further. Indicating that Azerbaijan had achieved rapid economic development in recent years, the President of Azerbaijan said the country had successfully implemented economic, social and infrastructure projects.

The sides also exchanged views on ways of expanding cooperation between the “Commerzbank AG” bank and Azerbaijan in the non-oil sector, in particular agriculture, provision of the agricultural sector with state-of-the-art equipment and increasing productivity.
