President Ilham Aliyev has received the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Tony Tyler.
Noting the contribution of air transport to the rapid economic development, Tony Tyler stressed the importance of progress of this sector globally. He gave a high assessment to the attention the government is paying to the development of air transport in Azerbaijan.
President Ilham Aliyev said that the government of Azerbaijan consistently takes care of air transport. Noting that modern airports have been built in various regions of the country and new aircraft purchased at state expense in recent years, the President stressed the importance of air transport in the expansion of the country’s business and tourism potential.
The sides also exchanged views on ways of enhancing cooperation between the International Air Transport Association and the "Azerbaijan Airlines" Closed Joint-Stock Company and establishing new partnerships in the field of air transport.
