President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, Park Byeong-seug.
The Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, Park Byeong-seug, stressed the importance of the fact that the International Monetary Fund has listed Azerbaijan among the world’s fastest growing economies. The guest emphasized that Azerbaijan had successfully hosted a number of important international events under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev last year and described Azerbaijan’s presidency in the UN Security Council in 2012 as a significant event.
President Ilham Aliyev said that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the Republic of Korea were rapidly developing.
Noting the progress made in the area of economic cooperation and the growth of trade between the two countries, the President stressed the importance of expanding the activities of South Korean companies in Azerbaijan. President Ilham Aliyev said that cooperation in the field of culture was also at a good level. Touching upon the inter-parliamentary relations, the President said that the visit by a delegation led by the Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, Park Byeong-seug, to Azerbaijan would serve to further enhance cooperation in this area.
The sides also pointed to the importance of the active participation of South Korean companies in various infrastructure projects implemented in Azerbaijan and noted the presence of good opportunities for cooperation in the field of petrochemicals, high-tech and other fields.
