President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the Minister of Internally Displaced Persons and Refugees from the occupied territories of Georgia, Davit Darahvelidze.

The President expressed his condolences to the leadership of Georgia and the Georgian people over the tragic death of Georgian servicemen in Afghanistan. The Minister of Internally Displaced Persons and refugees from the occupied territories of Georgia, Davit Darahvelidze, thanked the President for the condolences.

The Minister conveyed greetings on behalf of Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili. He said that the friendly and sincere attitude of President Ilham Aliyev to Georgia and the Georgian people were highly valued by the Prime Minister of his country. Davit Darahvelidze noted that Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili also appreciated the progress Azerbaijan had made in recent years and the work carried out personally by President Ilham Aliyev aimed at improving the well-being of the people, in particular the living conditions of refugees and the internally displaced persons. He said that Georgia intends to use Azerbaijan's experience in dealing with the problems of refugees and IDPs.

Recalling with satisfaction the visit of Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili to Azerbaijan, the President said that the parties had held fruitful discussions regarding of the current state and prospects for the development of friendly and brotherly relations and strategic partnership between the two countries.

President Ilham Aliyev said that the problems of refugees and IDPs were a priority for Azerbaijan. Noting that Azerbaijan has good experience in this regard, the President said that a lot is being done to improve the living conditions of refugees and internally displaced persons, their financial security and integration into society, and the results achieved are recognized by authoritative international organizations.

The President expressed his gratitude for the greetings and best wishes from Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili and asked the minister to convey his own greetings to the Prime Minister of Georgia.
