President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey which observed the presidential election in the country.
On behalf of his delegation, the deputy of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Haluk Ipek, congratulated the head of state on a landslide victory in the presidential election. He said that the delegation had visited various regions of Azerbaijan during the presidential election and voters, especially young people, demonstrated a high turnout. Haluk Ipek said that along with deputies from the Justice and Development Party, the observation mission also includes MPs representing the Republican People's Party and the Nationalist Movement Party in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey.
Recalling that the delegation had also observed the election in 2003, the Turkish guest said with a sense of satisfaction that every election had led to all-round development of Azerbaijan. Haluk Ipek said that the President, the Prime Minister of his country and all Turkish people followed the election with great interest, and expressed his hope that the election would bring Azerbaijan great success.
The head of state said that the friendly and brotherly relations existing between the two countries served as a solid foundation for the development of Turkish-Azerbaijani relations at the present stage.
Noting that the Turkish-Azerbaijani unity was an important factor in the international arena today, President Ilham Aliyev expressed his satisfaction with the successful development of relations between the two countries. Touching upon the presidential election held in the country, the President described its outcome as people’s assessment of the work done in Azerbaijan in recent years and an expression of their desires related to the future development. The President also expressed his confidence that the development of Azerbaijani-Turkish bilateral relations would be continued in all areas.
