President Ilham Aliyev received Executive Secretary of CIS Executive Committee, Sergey Lebedev.

Executive Secretary of CIS, Sergey Lebedev highlighted that an observation mission consisting of 352 people had arrived to Azerbaijan from the CIS countries to observe parliamentary elections. He stated that the members of the mission had observed closely the preparatory works and the election conduct process in over three thousand polling stations in different regions of Azerbaijan. Sergey Lebedev noted that the members of CIS observation mission had noticed changes in images of Azerbaijan’s cities and regions and high spirit in people.

The President expressed satisfaction with CIS observation mission members’ scrutiny of election preparatory works and overall election conduct, as well as their familiarization with ongoing development process in the regions of Azerbaijan. President Ilham Aliyev stated that all the necessary steps had been taken to improve the election process, to create equal conditions for every candidate, and to ensure transparency of elections in the country.
