Ilham Aliyev received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to Azerbaijan

President Ilham Aliyev received outgoing Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to Azerbaijan, Alain Guidetti.

The President noted successful development of relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Swiss Confederation during Guidetti`s diplomatic tenure. Touching upon the importance of high-level reciprocal visits, President Ilham Aliyev recalled his visits to Switzerland and Swiss President Pascal Couchepin’s visit to Azerbaijan and added that seminal discussions had taken place during those visits regarding the further development of relations. Having expressed his gratitude to the Swiss diplomat for his contributions to development of bilateral ties, the President wished him success in his future endeavors.

Ambassador Guidetti, in turn, recalled the opening of Switzerland`s representation in Baku in 2008 with participation of President Pascal Couchepin and said that the previous year had been successful and fruitful for the representation. He praised the ongoing development process in Azerbaijan that he had witnessed during his tenure and also expressed assurance that this development process would further continue.
