President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Latvia Linda Murniece.


The President noted that the visit agenda of Minister of Internal Affair of the Republic of Latvia Linda Murniece to Azerbaijan is quite broad and expressed confidence in its success. Having touched upon the importance of receiving such a high-level delegation in Azerbaijan from Latvia for the first time after his visit to Riga, President Ilham Aliyev also expressed content with continuation and expansion of the development dynamics of relations between the two states. President Ilham Aliyev also talked about the necessity of developing relations in every direction as per the agreement achieved with Latvian colleagues in Riga and added that the visit of Latvian Interior Minister Linda Murniece to Azerbaijan was significant for expanding the bilateral ties.

Minister of Interior Linda Murniece conveyed the greetings of Latvian President Valdis Zatlers to the President. She mentioned that the Latvian President recalls President Ilham Aliyev’s Riga visit and their all private meetings with content. Linda Murniece said she was assured that the meetings to be held in Azerbaijan would mark an important step in further development of bilateral relations.

The President expressed his gratitude for greetings of President of the Republic of Latvia Valdis Zatlers and requested his greetings to be delivered to the Latvian President in return.
