Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Norway Haakon.

The President said he was confident that the visit of Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Norway, Haakon, would be interesting and be a good opportunity for him to get to know Azerbaijan better. President Ilham Aliyev noted that the relations between Azerbaijan and Norway had commenced with energy cooperation in 1994. Having emphasized that Azerbaijan-Norway relations have a long history, President Ilham Aliyev also talked about the importance of successful cooperation between Norwegian Statoil company and the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic. The President expressed confidence that the visit of Crown Prince Haakon to Azerbaijan would contribute to further development of ties between the two countries.

The Norwegian Prince Haakon said he was pleased with his visit to Azerbaijan. Noting the importance of the “18th International Oil and Gas” Exhibition and Conference, held in Baku, Prince Haakon also touched upon the vital role of Azerbaijan in the region, and the fact that the country is a reliable partner in European energy issues. The Crown Prince of Norway said his country was determined to develop further the energy cooperation with Azerbaijan.
