President Ilham Aliyev has received the president of the Gagauz Republic of the Republic of Moldova, Mikhail Formuzal.

The head of state expressed his satisfaction with the participation of the president of the Gagauz Republic of the Republic of Moldova, Mikhail Formuzal, at the 3rd Congress of World Azerbaijanis and described this as an indicator of relations between Azerbaijan and Moldova.

Assessing his participation at the 3rd Congress of World Azerbaijanis as yet another step towards strengthening relations between Azerbaijan and Moldova, Mikhail Formuzal said the entity he is leading has established close contacts with representatives of the Azerbaijani Diaspora and the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Moldova. Mikhail Formuzal stressed the contribution of nationwide leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev to the development of these relations.

Recalling the unveiling of a monument to the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker, Nizami Ganjavi, during his first visit to Moldova, President Ilham Aliyev pointed to the importance of close contacts between the two countries.

The head if state described the unveiling of a monument to nationwide leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev in the Gagauz Republic as evidence of friendly and fraternal relations between the two peoples.
