President Ilham Aliyev has received the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov.
The head of state noted the importance of the fact that the visit to our country by the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov was linked to the issues discussed at the Kazan meeting. Saying that he is very satisfied with the level of the development of our bilateral relations, President Ilham Aliyev noted that these relations were very important to our country and the region. President Ilham Aliyev said that the visit created a good opportunity for discussing once again the agenda of our bilateral relations, which are developing dynamically and successfully.
Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov conveyed greetings from the President of the Russian Federation Dmitriy Medvedev to our head of state. He said that following the Kazan meeting between the presidents of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia on the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagornyy Karabakh conflict, which was also attended by the Russian, US and French cochairmen of the OSCE Minsk Group, Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev prepared an appeal to the presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia on the settlement of the issue, and handed the appeal to our head of state.
The head of state, Ilham Aliyev, expressed his thanks for the greetings from President Dmitriy Medvedev and asked to convey his greetings to the Russian head of state.
Guided by Clause 5 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, I hereby order:
To appoint Sahil Rafig oglu Babayev as Minister of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
