President Ilham Aliyev has received the president of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF), Tamas Ayan.
Giving a high assessment to the conditions created for the development of all sports in Azerbaijan, including weightlifting, Tamas Ayan thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the state care. The IWF president congratulated the head of state on the victory of Azerbaijani sportsmen in the First Junior Summer Olympics in Singapore in 2010.
President Ilham Aliyev stressed that weightlifting was rapidly developing in Azerbaijan. He described the successes of Azerbaijani athletes in the First Junior Summer Olympics in Singapore as the result of attention the government is paying to sports. The head of state pointed to the good potential for further development of weightlifting, which is a popular sport in Azerbaijan.
President Ilham Aliyev thanked Tamas Ayan for the International Weightlifting Federation’s support for the development of weightlifting in Azerbaijan.
Guided by Clause 5 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, I hereby order:
To appoint Sahil Rafig oglu Babayev as Minister of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
