President Ilham Aliyev received the Vice President and head of the Federal Department of Finance of the Swiss Confederation, Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf.
The head of state indicated that the relations between Azerbaijan and Switzerland were developing successfully. Recalling with satisfaction his own visit to Switzerland and the visits by leaders of Switzerland to Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev described the mutual high-level visits as an indication of the political relations between the two countries. The President stressed the importance of the visit to Azerbaijan by the Vice President and head of the Federal Department of Finance of the Swiss Confederation, Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf, and expressed his confidence that the visit would contribute to a further expansion of bilateral relations.
The Vice President and head of the Federal Department of Finance of the Swiss Confederation, Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf, congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of restoration of Azerbaijan’s independence and indicated that diplomatic relations between the two countries were established 20 years ago. Mrs. Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf also recalled with satisfaction President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Switzerland, his participation and productive meetings at the Economic Forum in Davis. She pointed to the importance of mutual high-level visits from the standpoint of further development of bilateral relations.
The sides also exchanged views on the prospects for the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the Swiss Confederation.
Guided by Clause 5 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, I hereby order:
To appoint Sahil Rafig oglu Babayev as Minister of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
