President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, the Russian Presidential Envoy in the North Caucasus Federal District, Alexander Khloponin.

Expressing his satisfaction with the visit by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Russian Presidential Envoy in the North Caucasus Federal District, Alexander Khloponin, the head of the Republic of Ingushetia of the Russian Federation, Yunusbek Yevkurov, the President of the Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, Arsen Kanokov, the head of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Taymuraz Mamsurov, the President of the Republic of Dagestan, Magomedsalam Magomedov, to Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev said the visit opens up good opportunities for the discussion of further cooperation.

President Ilham Aliyev said bilateral relations between our countries are at a high level. The President stressed that the turnover between Azerbaijan and Russia is growing, political ties are strengthening and regional cooperation is successfully developing. Noting that business, fraternal and friendly relations between Azerbaijan and North Caucasus republics of Russia are also strengthening, President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the importance of this for the two countries and peoples.

Russian Presidential Envoy in the North Caucasus Federal District, Aleksandr Khloponin, stressed the importance of developing bilateral relations and cooperation between our two countries in accordance with the instructions of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev not only at the government level but also at the level of the subjects of the federation. He regarded the cooperation between Azerbaijan and the North Caucasus Federal District as a good example. The Russian Deputy Prime Minister said the delegation had already held important meetings and presented a number of large-scale projects in Baku, and intends to develop this.

It was indicated at the meeting that considering numerous requests from veterans and the population of the Republic of Ingushetia of the Russian Federation, as a sign of friendly and neighborly relations between this subject of the North Caucasus Federal District of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Azerbaijan and in order to commemorate the outstanding politician and statesman, Heydar Aliyev, the City Council of Malgabek has decided to name one of the alleys of the city after Heydar Aliyev.
