President Ilham Ailyev received the World Bank’s Regional Director for the South Caucasus, Asad Alam.
Asad Alam conveyed greetings of Philippe Le Houérou, Vice-President of the World Bank, to the President. He congratulated the President on the economic successes, attained by the country during its 20 years of independence. Asad Alam praised the World Bank`s successful cooperation with Azerbaijan.
Highly appreciating the cooperation between the World Bank and Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev said support would be given to projects of mutual interest in the future. The sides stressed the rapid development of non-oil sector in Azerbaijan in 2011. The importance of joint projects being carried out in Azerbaijan was stressed at the meeting. The parties also exchanged views on social infrastructure projects.
The president expressed his gratitude for the greetings of Philippe Le Houérou and requested his greetings to be delivered to the Vice-President of the World Bank in return.
Guided by Clause 5 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, I hereby order:
To appoint Sahil Rafig oglu Babayev as Minister of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
