As part of his visit to Goranboy district, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended the inauguration of Gizilhajili-Goranboy-Goran-Rahimli-Veyisli-Gazanbulag-Borsunlu highway after renovation and repair.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of Azerbaijan Highway State Agency Saleh Mammadov informed the head of state of the work done.
Enquiring about the state of the Aghjakand road, President Ilham Aliyev said:
- Aghjakand is a strategic point. This is where the first IDP settlement is located. It was opened in the presence of the great leader. I was there too. The IDPs expelled from their lands as a result of Armenian aggression are based there. Therefore, this road should always be in the spotlight. If it is necessary to renovate it, do let me know.
In accordance with state programs on the development of the regions, specific measures have been taken to develop the road infrastructure in recent years. The scope of work on the construction and reconstruction of roads has been increasing every year. Currently, large-scale projects on the reconstruction and improvement of the country’s road infrastructure are being successfully implemented at the expense of the state.
Based on the orders and instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, the main focus today is on the repair and reconstruction of roads connecting villages and towns in the regions, as well as the roads within settlements. First of all, these measures are evidence of the sustainability of projects aimed at improving peoples’ lives. The construction of the Gizilhajili-Goranboy-Goran-Rahimli-Veyisli-Gazanbulag-Borsunlu highway is one of such projects.
President Ilham Aliyev cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the road.
Guided by Clause 5 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, I hereby order:
To appoint Sahil Rafig oglu Babayev as Minister of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
