President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by a member of the Mexican Senate, Carlos Jimenez Macias.

The President said that Azerbaijan was interested in developing bilateral relations with Mexico. President Ilham Aliyev stressed that in order to develop relations between the two countries, it is necessary to expand cooperation in all directions, including the parliamentary level. Pointing to the importance of the visit by a Mexican Senate delegation to Azerbaijan from the standpoint of development of relations between the two countries, the President expressed hope that such mutual visits would become a tradition from now on.

A member of the Mexican Senate, Carlos Jimenez Macias, said he had come to Azerbaijan with a delegation comprised of representatives of various political parties. He said members of the delegation were aware of Azerbaijan’s rapid development. Carlos Jimenez Macias noted that the Parliament of Mexico supported and would continue to support the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan in the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh. The Mexican guest indicated that his country was interested in developing bilateral relations with Azerbaijan in various spheres. Stressing that Azerbaijan had extensive experience in the energy sector, Carlos Jimenez Macias pointed to the importance of cooperation in this sphere.
