President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the President of the European People's Party, Wilfried Martens.
The head of state stressed that Azerbaijan’s relations with European institutions were developing fast.
President Ilham Aliyev pointed to the importance of the “Eastern Partnership” summit successfully conducted in Poland in September this year. Recalling with satisfaction the visit by European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso to Azerbaijan and his own visit to Brussels, President Aliyev highlighted their importance from the standpoint of our country's cooperation with the European Union. The President expressed confidence that the visit by Wilfried Martens to Azerbaijan would further expand cooperation between the European People's Party and the “Yeni Azerbaijan Party”.
The President of the European People's Party, Wilfried Martens, presented the head of state with a copy of his book “Europe: I fight, I win”, translated into Azerbaijani. Wilfried Martens informed the President of the meetings held with the “Yeni Azerbaijan Party”. He said that the European People's Party he is leading was interested in expanding cooperation with the “Yeni Azerbaijan Party”.
Guided by Clause 5 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, I hereby order:
To appoint Sahil Rafig oglu Babayev as Minister of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
