President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva have received the European MP and mayor of the 7th district of Paris, Rachida Dati.
The President indicated that the relations between Azerbaijan and France were broad in scope. Recalling with satisfaction the visit by French President Nicolas Sarkozy to Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev said French ministers and business people also pay regular visits to our country. Pointing to a good level of economic relations and noting that Azerbaijan’s first telecommunication satellite would be taken into orbit by a French company, the head of state said French companies successfully operate in Azerbaijan. Stressing that cultural cooperation between the two countries was rapidly developing, President Aliyev pointed to the importance of the activities carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Paris. Saying that a French school would start operating in Baku in a few years, the President mentioned that Azerbaijan and France have achieved good results in all areas.
A member of the European Parliament and the mayor of the 7th district of Paris, Rachida Dati, remembered with satisfaction her meeting in Paris with the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva. Rachida Dati emphasized that the Days of Azerbaijani Culture in Paris were a great success and pointed to their importance for promoting Azerbaijani culture.
Guided by Clause 5 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, I hereby order:
To appoint Sahil Rafig oglu Babayev as Minister of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
