President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the Minister of Culture and Communication of France, Frederic Mitterrand.
The President said that the relations between Azerbaijan and France were successfully developing in various directions, including the field of culture. Touching upon the many cultural events being held, President Aliyev stressed their importance for the rapid development of bilateral relations. The President pointed to the importance of cultural events being held within the framework of the presentation of Azerbaijan in France. President Aliyev said the exhibition to be held in Baku would further strengthen the ties in this area. The President expressed the hope that the visit of Minister Frederic Mitterrand to Azerbaijan would serve to enhance cooperation.
Expressing his satisfaction with the visit to Azerbaijan, the Minister of Culture and Communication of France, Frederic Mitterrand, said: “Mr. President, thank you for the warm welcome, I am very honored to meet you as a worthy successor to your father Heydar Aliyev.”
Giving a high assessment to the activities of Azerbaijan’s First Lady and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva in the area of culture, the French minister said the presentations held on her initiative had played a major role in promoting Azerbaijan in France. Indicating that the upcoming exhibition in Baku, “Masterpieces of France. French art from the Renaissance to the present day”, has also been organized on the initiative and with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Frederic Mitterrand pointed to the need for expanding cultural cooperation between the two countries.
