Following the one-on-one meeting, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev held a meeting in presence of delegation.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev addressed the meeting participants:

Dear guests!

I would like to cordially welcome you in Azerbaijan again. We attach great importance to your visit.

I am confident that this visit will yield great results. We extensively exchanged ideas with you on a broad scope of our relations both yesterday and today. We have discussed all bilateral issues and regional problems thoroughly.

I see you have ascertained that our relations are important not only for our countries, but also for the processes ongoing in the region.

I am very delighted that such an influential delegation – various level leaders of the Russian Federation, have arrived with you. This is also an indicator of the value you attach to our relations.

These relations are very important and valuable to us. These are relations of strategic partnership and ties between friends. I am positive that this visit will render positive results, and the documents we plan to sign will create a strong foundation for further development of our relations. 

I would like to greet you in Azerbaijan again. Welcome!

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome:

- Thank you again, dear Ilham Heydar oglu, dear Azerbaijani colleagues.

Indeed, we exchanged ideas at length with you in a limited arrangement. It was very useful.

I would like to note that this new place is very comfortable and suitable for conduct of talks. Such that, the Azerbaijani side has created all the conditions for fruitful conduct of talks and has carried it out nicely. 

I think we can discuss some of the economic issues, traditionally dealt with by our intergovernmental commission, in presence of the delegations now. The heads of those commissions are present here. 

Along with the issues of regional security, we can also emphasize the economic components of our cooperation more. Last year, due to the crisis, was a tough year for our trade turnover – it shrunk. 

There are positive tendencies this year, but, of course, we should do everything necessary to strengthen those tendencies. We should think about initiating new projects and finding new points of contact. Using the opportunity, we have discussed some ideas with you during our private meeting. I believe, now we can share those ideas with our colleagues.
