President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
The Azerbaijani President praised the successful development of relations between the two countries. The President recalled the meetings he held during his official visit to Egypt, stressing the importance of holding joint events on various levels. The President expressed confidence that Egyptian Foreign Minister, Ahmed Aboul Gheit`s visit would contribute to boosting the bilateral relations.
Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit conveyed Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak`s greetings to President Ilham Aliyev, and handed over his letter to the Azerbaijani President. The guest stated that the rapid development processes, stability and prosperity, modern infrastructure, and newly constructed buildings of the country made huge impression on him.
Mentioning that recent years had seen rapid development in all spheres of life in Azerbaijan, the President also stressed the successful implementation of important projects both in the capital and in regions. President Ilham Aliyev underlined that important measures were underway to turn Azerbaijan into a powerful and modern state.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for Egyptian President Hosni Mubarek’s greetings and asked Ahmed Aboul Gheit to convey his greetings to the Egyptian President as well.
