Ilham Aliyev received British State Minister for European Affairs David Lidington

President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by the British State Minister for European Affairs, David Lidington.

The British minister indicated that this was his first visit to Azerbaijan and that it was producing a good impression on him. Mentioning that he was aware of the achievements attained by the Azerbaijani government, David Lidington highlighted that the two countries had strong and developing relations in political, economic and security areas.

President Ilham Aliyev said the relations between the two countries were successfully developing in different spheres. Touching upon the visit of British State Minister for European Affairs, David Lidington with a group of businessmen to Azerbaijan, the President noted that the interest in mutual collaboration had grown not only in energy field, but in others as well. 

Stating his hope in success of the guest’s visit, the President highlighted the importance of the visit and voiced his confidence that it would strengthen every area of partnership.

The parties exchanged views on the regulation of Azerbaijan-Armenia Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and Azerbaijan’s cooperation with the European Union and Euro-Atlantic organizations.
