President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Taner Yildiz, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Turkish Republic and the co-chair of joint intergovernmental commission.

Head of state stressed the importance of meeting held by the Azerbaijani-Turkish joint intergovernmental commission. Recalling his recent fruitful meetings with President of Turkey Abdullah Gül and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul, President Ilham Aliyev noted the significance of visit made by Taner Yildiz, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Turkey and the co-chair of joint intergovernmental commission to our country. Saying the dynamic development of relations between our countries, President Ilham Aliyev stressed his confidence over discussion and resolution of many issues related to the development of bilateral relations by the joint commission.

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Turkish Republic and the co-chair of joint intergovernmental commission Taner Yildiz conveyed regards of President of Turkey Abdullah Gül and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Mr.Yildiz said he visits our country with a large delegation and will hold joint discussions related to a series of issues for further development of our relations. Tanir Yildiz expressed his confidence over the resolution of these issues under the relationship of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

Head of state said that the unity between our countries was strengthening each day that will have a positive impact on the region. Stressing the necessity of even positions on all issues in the future between our countries, President Ilham Aliyev said that interests of Azerbaijan and Turkey are the same both at the global and regional levels. Noting further fostering of Azerbaijani-Turkish friendship and eternal nature of our brotherhood, the head of state expressed his confidence that the relationship based upon these foundations would lead us to the future.

At the meeting, the prospects of future co-operation in the field of gas between Azerbaijan and Turkey were discussed by both sides. Successful implementation of Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum and Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhun projects was noted by participants of the meeting. During the meeting, the importance of Baku-Tbilisi-Gars railway project was noted, while saying that Azerbaijan allocated additional resources to this project in 2011. Touching upon the cooperation issues in the field of electric energy, points of view related to the unification of electric lines of Turkey-Georgia-Azerbaijan and the export of electric energy to Turkey were exchanged by both sides.

The head of state thanked for the regards of President of Turkey Abdullah Gül and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and asked to deliver his greetings to the Turkish President and the Prime Minister.
