Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by the chairman of the France-Caucasus friendship group of the French Senate

President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the chairman of the France-Caucasus friendship group of the French Senate, Senator Ambroise Dupont.

The head of state expressed his satisfaction with the fact that Senator Ambroise Dupont is visiting Azerbaijan again. Recalling previous meetings with Senator Ambroise Dupont, President Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence that this visit to Azerbaijan would also be successful.

Stressing that the relations between Azerbaijan and France are developing successfully and dynamically, President Ilham Aliyev pointed to the importance of the visit from the standpoint of further expanding French-Azerbaijani relations. Expressing his satisfaction with the level of cooperation between the two countries, the President emphasized the need for strengthening bilateral relations even further.

The chairman of the France-Caucasus friendship group of the French Senate, Senator Ambroise Dupont, said he has been witnessing remarkable development of Baku during this visit. Stressing that he was deeply impressed by the changes, he pointed to the importance of the development processes under way in the Azerbaijani capital for the last several years. Mr. Dupont was pleased to recall his first visit to Azerbaijan and a meeting with nationwide leader of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev. Saying that the meeting with the nationwide leader had produced a great impression on him, he said he had started discovering Azerbaijan for himself after that visit.

The importance of Azerbaijani-French inter-parliamentary relations was highlighted at the meeting. It was indicated that these relations were contributing to a further expansion of bilateral relations.
