President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by the Chairman of the National Assembly of Korea, Park Hee-tae.

The President emphasized that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the Republic of Korea were successfully developing. Pointing to a high level of political relations, President Aliyev said economic cooperation was producing good results and the turnover between the two countries was growing rapidly. Expressing his satisfaction with the participation of Korean companies in important projects in Azerbaijan in recent years, the President said Azerbaijan was interested in expanding this cooperation further. Noting the importance of inter-parliamentary ties for the development of bilateral relations, President Aliyev expressed confidence that the visit by the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, Park Hee-tae, would be successful and fruitful talks and discussions on expanding the cooperation further would be held.

Park Hee-tae expressed his satisfaction with his first visit to Azerbaijan as chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea. He said the main goal of his visit to Azerbaijan is to participate in commemorative events to mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and the Republic of Korea and to discuss a further expansion of bilateral relations.

Indicating that he was witnessing rapid development taking place in Azerbaijan, Park Hee-tae said Azerbaijan had achieved great progress under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.

The sides expressed an interest in further expanding cooperation in the areas of information and communication technologies, tourism, etc.
