Ilham Aliyev received Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic

President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic, Jan Kohout.

Touching upon the successful development of bilateral relations in various spheres, the President underlined that the EU-Azerbaijan relations and regional cooperation are the issues of mutual interest between the two countries. President Ilham Aliyev expressed hope that Czech Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Jan Kohout's visit to Azerbaijan would contribute to further enhancement of relationship between the two countries. The President stressed the importance of opening of Czech Republic's embassy in Baku and characterized it as an important element of bilateral ties.

Czech Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Jan Kohout, in turn, stated that the visit provided a good opportunity to discuss issues relating to bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic. He pointed out that relations with Azerbaijan are of strategic character for the Czech Republic. Jan Kohout also underscored the role of Azerbaijan President's visit to the Czech Republic in 2009 for strengthening of relations between the two countries.
