President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by UN Deputy Secretary General, Asha-Rose Migiro.
Asha-Rose Migiro, who was in Baku to attend the VII Council of Europe Conference of Ministers Responsible for Equality between Women and Men, conveyed greetings of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to the President and added that the Secretary General was well informed of economic development in Azerbaijan. Asha-Rose Migiro thanked the President for his message addressed to the conference participants. Having talked about her meeting and interesting discussions with Azerbaijan’s First Lady, the Deputy Secretary General praised the efforts of Mehriban Aliyeva and the Azerbaijani government to improve children’s healthcare.
Stressing the importance of the VII Council of Europe Conference of Ministers Responsible for Equality between Women and Men, the President expressed hope that the event would contribute to the general situation on gender equality in all participating countries, including Azerbaijan. President Ilham Aliyev recalled with content his meeting with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon when the latter was still Korea`s Foreign Minister.
The President expressed his gratitude for the greetings of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and requested to convey his greetings to the Secretary General as well.
